Opera, Video Opera, Orchestral Overtures, in Italian and English, since 1999 with the "Tour de Force" Satyricon, Scola Prosek has re-defined what today's classical opera can be, comic, lyrical, bel-canto vocal lines set in an original musical language.
Raised in Rome, Scola Prosek studied composition at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, and graduated from Princeton, where she studied with Milton Babbitt and Ed Cone. In New York, Lisa studied voice with Margherita Kalil of the Met.
To date, Lisa has premiered 5 Operas, including Machiavelli's Belfagor, Leonardo's Notebooks , and Trap Door, commissioned by The Lab Art Re-Grup, which premiered as a video opera in June 2008 in San Francisco.
